Darkness Returning Plot

It's easy to forget the depth of evil when it's been gone for so long. Death Eaters, the terror, the battle, even Voldemort himself have all faded into stories to scare children into an early bedtime, or to keep them from going out past curfew. They are a ghost story, and no longer a threat. Legends remain. 


Harry Potter continues to fight the dark forces, even from his cushioned chair behind a Ministry desk. His efforts have largely kept the darkness at bay, for which the population is hugely grateful. He's made enemies along the way, but he's been safe, as have his family. They've grown comfortable. The Boy Who Lived, The Boy Who Saved, has become The Man Who Oversaw. It's time for new heroes to rise.


Darkness has once again given itself form, and it has taken a new name: The Royal Darkness. No one knows yet what they want, or what their final goal is. No one knows if they're connected to Voldemort, if he's returned, or if this is an entirely new league of evil. No one was prepared for them to spring up from no where, and no one expected their first target.


Hogwarts used to be a place of safety, where students were kept from evil by the greatest witches and wizards. But now it's a place that breeds fear, because evil has struck once more. And this time, it's taken a student.


Ruby Spencer disappeared from the Hogwarts grounds on Wednesday, October 5th. After a staff meeting, some of the professors dispersed during the week they gave the students off of classes to go join the search for the poor girl. Some, such as Headmaster Ashford, haven't returned. And fear is spreading quickly among the students. 


Who will rise to prove their strength, and who will fall the the background? Who will stand for their friends, and who will choose to join the darkness?
